BJP always oppose Congress works: Rahul

Chandigarh, Oct 11 (RDI): Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi on Thursday attacked Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and said it always opposed the policies of the ruling party including the recen"Our government has recently brought FDI. The meaning of it is very simple. It is giving the farmer his rightful share," Gandhi said while addressing a rally of the National Students Union of India (NSUI) at Panjab University campus on Thursday.

"When the BJP-led NDA government were in power they did not oppose FDI. But when we brought it, they are now opposing it," Gandhi said.

"They always want to stop the works the Congress wants to do, " he said.

He said the Congress will not stop its developmental works.

"They know it well that if they let us work then we are going to change the country. But we will not stop," Gandhi said.

He urged youths to join politics.

"We want you to join politics. You will need to change it," Gandhi said.

Gandhi is on a two-day visit to the north Indian state.

The UPA government has thrown open doors to more foreign investment in India's retail, aviation, broadcast, insurance and pension sectors, while also announcing disinvestment in four state-run industries in moves that were long seen as critical to revive flagging growth and confidence in Asia's third-biggest economy.
